Promoting Post-Judgment Mediation at Sabasaba 2025

In July 2025, ESS Creative and Legal Foundation was honored to collaborate with the High Court Mediation Center during the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba). Together, we collaboratively educated the Registered Court brokers on the benefits of mediation when executing court judgments, enabling them to mediate disputes informally after the judgment.

Court brokers are key stakeholders in the justice system, often facilitating the final phase of justice through judgment execution. However, disputes can still arise during this phase. We emphasized that—based on the principle of party autonomy—such post-judgment disputes can be resolved informally through mediation, as long as both parties agree.

Addressing these conflicts through mediation not only upholds justice but also prevents additional court filings, which can burden an already strained system. This collaboration reflected a shared commitment to make mediation a continuous, accessible, and inclusive tool for peace and efficiency in the justice process.
