Dar es Salaam, October 20, 2025 — The Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs (MoCLA), through its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Unit, conducted an official visit to the ESS Creative and Legal Foundation office in Dar es Salaam as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with accredited ADR institutions across Tanzania.
The visit was led by Ms. Aveline Ombock, Principal State Attorney from MoCLA’s ADR Unit, accompanied by Nuru Mwambemba, who is a State Attorney. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and accredited ADR institutions such as ESS, as well as to assess ongoing initiatives contributing to the national goal of positioning ADR as the preferred mechanism for resolving disputes.
During the visit, ESS shared updates on its current programs and initiatives, empowering community leaders to be more effective in providing mediation services across communities in Tanzania. The discussions also addressed key challenges faced by ADR practitioners and institutions, including regulatory support, accreditation standards, and public awareness of ADR. Participants also shared recommendations for improving the provision of ADR services to ensure accessibility, professionalism, and sustainability across the country.
The visit marked an important step toward deepening collaboration between the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs and Accredited ADR stakeholders, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to creating a well-coordinated and inclusive ADR system that supports justice delivery at all levels of society.
