On July 25, 2025, ESS Creative and Legal Foundation was invited to attend the annual NGO Symposium held at the University of Dar es Salaam. This important event was organized by the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MCDGEC-Tanzania) and The President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG).
The symposium, graced by the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila, brought together diverse stakeholders to reflect on the successes, challenges, and future of the NGO sector. Themed around fostering collaboration between NGOs and the government, the event highlighted the critical role NGOs play in promoting peacebuilding and conflict resolution—the central focus and driving force behind ESS Creative and Legal Foundation's work.
Hon. Albert Msando, District Commissioner of Ubungo, called on NGOs and CSOs to design programs that empower communities sustainably rather than creating dependency. He emphasized the importance of aligning projects with Tanzania’s cultural values and norms.
The Tanzania Revenue Authority also participated, urging NGO leaders to comply with tax laws as a means of supporting national economic development.
ESS is proud to contribute to these discussions and remains committed to partnering with government institutions to create inclusive, peaceful, and empowered communities across Tanzania.
